Christmas 2024

Dear Friend of the Temple Gallery,

We present here our latest collection with icons ranging from this highly important late Byzantine image of the Cretan School attributed to the Andreas Ritzos (1421-1492) to a modest Balkan triptych or an exquisite Moscow School Virgin of Vladimir, ca. 1500.

They can be viewed online at by clicking here and some can be seen at our gallery at 6 Clarendon Cross, London W114AP. There about 40 icons in all ranging in price from one or two thousand pounds up to, in one case, a six-figure sum.

Please note the gallery will be closed from 18th December to 3rd January. However, I will be available by email (richard@templegallery.com) during that period.

You might like to know that Julie’s Restaurant has finally reopened. It’s 150 yards from the Temple Gallery and it’s great: stylish and friendly, wonderful food, prices almost reasonable. If there is something in the gallery that interests you, we can happily display it in the window so you can admire it after dinner and a glass of wine.

There is also a newly opened café opposite called St Clair. The huge marble bar is classy and magnificent. I haven’t tried the coffee yet but they asked me for an icon of Saint Clair so they must be good people.

With warmest wishes,
Dick Temple and everybody at the Temple Gallery.
