Samon, Guri, and Aviv are three early Christian martyrs from Edessa, also known as the "marriage saints" or "wedding saints," who are venerated in Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Samon was a layman, Guri a priest, and Aviv a deacon, and they were executed for their faith during the persecution of Christians under Emperors Diocletian and Maximian. They are considered patrons of marriage, family fidelity, and family happiness and their icons are often given as gifts for weddings or to protect families.
