The Pomors (Russian: помо́ры), are an ethnographic group traditionally thought to be descended from Russian settlers, primarily from Novgorod, living on the White Sea coast. Pomoriye is famous as a land of fairy tales, legend and myth and in the 18th century a stronghold of the Old Believer faith.
