The panel is divided into four sections each with a festival scene. In the top-left corner, the Annunciation. In the top-right corner, the Nativity of Christ. In the bottom-left corner, the Baptism of Christ, and next to this in the bottom-right corner is the Old Testament Trinity.

The icon has been executed with exquisite skill – the scenes have been rendered with luminous clarity and attention to detail. Though painted in the 19th century, the style is influenced by 17th century Moscow icons, sometimes referred to as the Armoury School. These earlier works are distinguished by their refined approach to form and ornamentation.
