The Temple Gallery
He is a member of the Advisory Panel of the National Art Collections Fund of Great Britain and has been active in the acquisition of icons by several major museums, among them the British Museum, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Timken Art Gallery in San Diego, California and the Museum of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Moscow. He has played a major role in the formation of several highly important private collections such as that of Mr Eric Bradley, which passed into the Museum of the Menil Foundation in Houston, Texas, the collection of the late Mrs John D. Rockefeller III and the collection, now housed in Vicenza, of the Banca Intesa, Italy. Over the years he has published many catalogues and scholarly articles. In 1990 his book Icons and the Mystical Origins of Christianity was published by Element Books. It was reprinted in 1992. A new edition, published by Luzac Oriental, has now been printed. Services The Temple Gallery is happy to provide general advice on dating, attribution, conservation, restoration and iconographical analysis. We will also provide written valuations for insurance purposes for which we charge 1% of the total cost of the goods valued plus VAT at 17.5%. The minimum fee is £50 plus VAT.
